CAREERS FAIR - 14th JUNE 2022

Reports have shown that inspiring young people about the world of work should start at an early age. We recognise that our pupils require a range of opportunities to help raise their aspirations and broaden their horizons regarding the world of work. This fits in well with UNCRC Article 23: Every child has a right to live a full and independent life.

Our first Careers Fair at Longwill will be held on Tuesday 14th June from 1:30 -3:30pm.

We are really pleased that we have a range of Deaf professionals coming to talk to our Year 3 to Year 6 pupils, ranging from teaching assistants, audiologists, business people, teachers and dancers from the creative arts sector.

Each presenter will share their work journey with Years 3/4 and also with Years 5/6. This presentation will be a maximum of 15 minutes with 5 minutes for question from the pupils.

We also have Medical Mavericks coming into school on Wednesday 15th June to show our Year 4-6 pupils the exciting life of a scientist.

Our aim is to ensure that our pupils engage effectively with what they learn in the classroom and see how it can be applied in the world of work.

We hope to make this an annual event and would welcome input from both Deaf and Hearing parents who would like to talk about their job for 5 -10 minutes to the children.
