Online Safety

Safe, Respectful & Confident Online

Technology is an important part of learning, communication and everyday life. At Longwill, pupils are taught how to use technology safely, respectfully and critically, including how to recognise risks, protect personal information, seek help and make responsible choices online.

Our Approach

In school, safeguarding around technology includes filtering and monitoring, appropriate controls and a planned online-safety curriculum. Families also play an important role, and the school provides guidance to help parents and carers talk with children about online experiences and respond to concerns.

Safe Use

Pupils learn how to recognise online risks, protect personal information and make responsible choices.

Speak Up

Children are encouraged to tell a trusted adult if something online makes them worried, uncomfortable or unsafe.

Family Support

We provide guidance to help parents and carers support safe and positive technology use at home.

If You Have a Concern

If you are worried about something your child has experienced online, please contact the school so we can support you.

If you are worried about something that has happened online, tell a trusted adult or member of school staff as soon as possible.

Concerns can be reported directly to the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead. Please save any relevant messages, usernames or screenshots, but do not share harmful content further.

The school will listen, provide support and take appropriate action.
